12 days kenya widlife safari

Day 1: Arrival

Upon reaching Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by your driver guide. You will then be transferred to your city hotel where a safari briefing will be given.

Meals and overnight: City Hotel

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast depart for Amboseli to arrive in good time for lunch. This will be followed by time at leisure. At 1600hrs you will leave for your first game drive returning to your overnight camp after sunset.

Amboseli National Park: is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to elephants among other wildlife species. The Park offers spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and has an endless underground water supply filtered through thousands of feet of volcanic rock from Kilimanjaro ice cap, which funnel into two clear water springs in the heart of the park. It features wildlife such as the African elephant, Cape buffalo, Impala, and Giraffe, lion, hyena, zebra and wildebeests among other African animals. There is also a variety of birds, both large and small.

 Day 3: Amboseli Safari

You will have a full day in Amboseli National Park with an early morning game drive returning to the camp/lodge for breakfast and have time at leisure. Late afternoon you will have an afternoon game drive until sunset.

 Day 4: Amboseli -Lake Manyara

After breakfast depart and drive to the boarder of Kenya and Tanzania where your Tanzanian driver guide will be waiting for you. After going through the immigration process depart for Arusha to arrive in good time for lunch. Later on, you will drive to Lake Manyara for your dinner and overnight stay waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

 Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

Drive to Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast and spent the whole day on game drive with picnic lunches. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of African animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants. Lake Manyara is famous for tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake. Later in the afternoon, drive to Farm of Dream for dinner and overnight.

 Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Depart right after breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos,antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck, the‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.

 Day 7: Serengeti National Park

Early morning after breakfast, you will drive straight to Serengeti National Park passing through Ngorongoro Conservation Area and via Olduvai Gorge. Arrive in good time for lunch. Later in the afternoon you will explore the vast Serengeti with its endless plains looking for the big cats. The Serengeti hosts the largest mammal migration in the world and is a popular destination for popular African safaris. It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains seasonally. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile infested river can hold them back. Later you will drive to your accommodation.

 Day 8: Serengeti National Park

Embark on an early morning game drive in the park. The Migration, consisting of around 2 million animals, is on the move all year round. Depending on the season you may see this impressive phenomenal. Naturally it also attracts a mass of predators and you may be able to see a band of lionesses gather for a hunt. You will return to your lodge for lunch and to rest for afternoon game drive.

 Day 9: Maasai Mara

After breakfast you will depart for Maasai Mara. At the Kenya/Tanzania boarder you will go through the immigration process. Bind your Tanzania driver guide bye and join your Kenyan driver for a drive to Maasai Mara National Park.

Maasai Mara Game Reserve: is the largest and most popular reserve globally especially due to the great migration that occurs July-August and October-November. It has a wide variety of wildlife i.e., Wildebeests, Giraffes, Zebras, Leopards, Lions, Cheetahs, Thompson’s Gazelle, Hyenas and so many more. Hippos and Crocodiles dominate the Mara River especially during the migration so as to feast on the wildlife that migrates in search of new pastures. There are also Maasai villages near the reserve and one may spot some Maasai men herding cattle.

Dinner and Overnight: Lodge or Camp Days 10 & 11: Maasai Mara

These two days will be spent exploring this eighth wonder of the world. You will have one full day to explore the Mara. You can opt to have a morning and afternoon game drive with meals at the lodge or alternatively after breakfast spend the entire day exploring the Mara with picnic lunch. Extra optional activity on this day will be a visit to a Masai village.

 Day 12: Nairobi – Departure

Breakfast at you will departer for Nairobi. We will later have an early dinner and then transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
